Litecoin.watch chart reading lab Release: chart-lab-20261012-v1 Page: https://litecoin.watch/chart-lab/ What this release is -------------------- A software calculation over a previously frozen observed Coinbase Exchange LTC-USD sample, plus two separately labelled fictional teaching paths. It is not a second market capture, a wallet test, a backtest or a trading forecast. The interactive controls do not request fresh prices or start a collector. Observed input -------------- The original request began on 2026-10-12 at 10:31:53.694303 UTC; the response was received at 10:31:53.906859 UTC. The published original response contained 97 records. The original study retained 96 unique, completed 900-second buckets in [2026-10-11T10:30:00Z, 2026-10-12T10:30:00Z). The extra record starting at the exclusive end was excluded. There were no missing retained buckets, duplicate conflicts or invalid retained records. dataset.json copies all 96 candle objects without changing their decimal strings. It adds a lab release identifier, the source URLs and file hashes, the declared window, and the two original fictional examples. The lab input hash is recorded in results.json. The original raw response hash is: 80a57e17249c13be5e1a7c977ba67a12b252c32bca1ef7aa85bcf07518d197f6 Original evidence and collection rules: https://litecoin.watch/uploads/research/chart-reading-20261012-v1/README.txt https://litecoin.watch/uploads/research/chart-reading-20261012-v1/candles.json https://litecoin.watch/uploads/research/chart-reading-20261012-v1/provenance.json https://litecoin.watch/uploads/research/chart-reading-20261012-v1/coinbase-response.json Official field definitions: https://docs.cdp.coinbase.com/api-reference/exchange-api/rest-api/products/get-product-candles Grouping rule ------------- The first source bucket starts at 2026-10-11T10:30:00Z. This is the anchor for all groups. Each 15-minute view has 96 records. Each 1-hour group contains four successive source records, giving 24 complete groups. Each 4-hour group contains sixteen records, giving six complete groups. An hourly group is 10:30-11:30, followed by 11:30-12:30. These groups are not labelled as provider candles aligned to whole UTC hours. No partial group, interpolated price, zero-volume fill or carried-forward close is invented. The browser rejects incomplete coverage, repeated/misaligned starts, invalid decimals, negative volume, and inconsistent open/high/low/close relationships. For a group: open = first source open close = last source close low = minimum source low high = maximum source high volume = exact sum of source volume Every original bucket is used once. The observed low 63.331 USD, observed high 65.82 USD, and total source volume are conserved across the three views. The highest sampled close can change when intermediate closes are omitted. Arithmetic and timestamps ------------------------- The browser uses BigInt, scaling decimal prices/volumes by 100,000,000. All sample decimals fit within eight decimal places. Percentages are exact integer fractions, with only the display rounded half up to four decimal places. Floating-point conversion is used solely for SVG coordinates. First-to-last sampled-close change: (last sampled close - first sampled close) / first sampled close * 100 Maximum sampled-close drawdown: the largest (earlier running peak close - later close) / peak close * 100 The first close is not the beginning-of-window price. For the three grouping intervals, the first and last nominal bucket end boundaries are separated by: 15 minutes: 23 hours 45 minutes 1 hour: 23 hours 4 hours: 20 hours The actual last-trade times inside the buckets are unavailable. Neither the start nor end boundary is presented as the exact timestamp of a trade. Thus these percentages are not an exact 24-hour endpoint return. Default 15-minute results: first close 63.381 USD; last close 65 USD first-to-last close percent = 161900 / 63381 = 2.5544% rounded maximum sampled-close drawdown percent = 82900 / 65773 = 1.2604% rounded Other exact fractions, bucket locations, volumes and all grouped rows appear in results.json. Chart meaning ------------- Each horizontal position is a bucket end boundary. Joining closes does not recover the sequence of trades between them. A vertical low/high mark gives extrema recorded somewhere within the entire group, not two trades at its end. It cannot establish whether the high occurred before the low. Changing the visible range marks does not change any calculation. Fictional paths --------------- A: 60, 66, 54, 62 -> ordered-point drawdown 200/11% = 18.1818% rounded B: 60, 54, 66, 62 -> ordered-point drawdown 10% = 10.0000% rounded Both have open 60, high 66, low 54, close 62 and a 10/3% first-to-last change. These four points have no measured trade timestamps, volume, fees, spread, fills or execution model. They are not observations of actual LTC trades. Reproduce independently ---------------------- Download dataset.json, results.json and verify.py.txt to the same directory. Python 3 standard library only; no external package or internet is needed: python verify.py.txt python verify.py.txt --calculate The first command reads and compares the stored results. The second prints the independently computed results. Neither writes files or starts another process. It uses Fraction rather than the browser fixed-point implementation and independently checks all 96 records and the 96/24/6 grouped rows. It does not requery Coinbase or establish that the provider reported every trade. A successful calculation check is not independent market collection. Browser calculation source: https://litecoin.watch/js/chart-lab-core.js Browser rendering/export source: https://litecoin.watch/js/chart-lab-page.js The implementation and isolated DOM/template tests use software-generated checks; no independent human review or live exchange execution is claimed. Exports ------- Selection JSON records release, source provenance, interval, snapshot anchor, selected chart view, all exact grouped prices/volumes, endpoint boundaries, unknown actual trade-time status and exact percentage fractions. Selection CSV contains every grouped record with UTC start/end, open, high, low, close, volume in LTC and source bucket count. Pair it with JSON for the full source and calculation metadata. Prices are strings, never locale- rounded numbers. SVG contains the current plot and machine-readable source, window, interval and view metadata. A download reflects the current selection. The controls stay in page memory; no account, wallet or private input is used. Limits ------ One venue, one LTC-USD product, one 24-hour source-bucket window. No claim about all Litecoin markets, executable prices, customer fills or personal investment return. Fees, funding, withdrawals, fiat conversion and cash flows are not included. Closes can omit larger intra-bucket falls. Bucket OHLC alone does not establish full ordered trade drawdown.
