Before signing a readable Litecoin message 1. Identify who requested it and use their official authenticated channel. 2. Ask what action this proof will permit. Read the full message yourself. 3. Confirm the expected service/site, purpose, address, one-use nonce and expiry. 4. Check the UTC time and use a newly issued challenge, not an old sample. 5. Use your wallet's documented Sign message feature and a supported format. 6. If the screen instead asks to approve a transaction, PSBT, transfer, spending permission or an opaque payload, stop and establish what it actually signs. 7. Never type a seed, private key, backup, wallet password or descriptor into a verification website. A requester needs the public response, not secrets. 8. Return the exact address, exact text and signature through the expected channel. 9. Keep a private copy of the request, who issued it and what it was intended for. Before accepting somebody else's proof Ask for a new readable challenge you issue for this specific purpose. Independently verify the exact address/message/signature using the matching protocol. Then check your expected context, expiry and unused nonce. A valid old signature is not a new proof. A signature alone proves neither identity nor a current balance. Public addresses and signatures can reveal associations and can be copied. These instructions are a human checklist, not a complete authentication system. This file deliberately contains no real nonce, address, secret or payment request.
