# Litecoin.watch reproducible research Version 2026-09-27.2. Public home: https://litecoin.watch/wallet-recovery/#reproduction This repository contains original observation files, synthetic fixtures and runnable experiments. It is hosted by Litecoin.watch. A Git bundle supplies commits and release tags without requiring a GitHub account; the source ZIP works without Git. ## Check the package Extract the source ZIP, then run with Python 3.10 or later: ``` python run.py verify ``` This verifies file hashes, consistency of stored observations, and the observer/archive control tests. It does **not** repeat the wallet experiments or constitute independent review. ## Actually repeat the new wallet experiments On Windows, obtain Litecoin Core 0.21.5.8 and the standalone Electrum-LTC 4.2.2.1 executable from their official publishers. Verify the publisher signatures. The repository does not distribute wallet binaries or install dependencies. The runner checks the exact tested binary hashes before starting. ``` python run.py experiment --core-daemon "C:/verified/litecoind.exe" --core-cli "C:/verified/litecoin-cli.exe" --electrum "C:/verified/electrum-ltc-4.2.2.1.exe" --output "C:/new-reproduction-results" ``` The output directory must not contain earlier experiment output. The Core script creates a fresh temporary regtest data directory, disables all peer discovery and outbound connections, and stops its own daemon in a finally block. Electrum commands always use offline mode and explicit temporary wallet paths. No existing wallet, mainnet endpoint, real recovery phrase or private backup is accepted. Temporary synthetic wallet files may remain in the OS temporary directory. The 14 Core and 7 Electrum assertions should pass. Core balances by stage should be 5, 2, 2, 5, 0, 0, 3 regtest LTC. Electrum receiving address counts should be 20, 36, 20, 40 and the fixed index-35 address should match. Random Core keys, transaction IDs, timestamps and whole-result hashes will differ on another run. A comparison of assertions is not an estimate of real-world recovery success. ## Contents - `experiments/recovery-v1`: imported, previously published release 2026-09-27.1; Core file restore, native Electrum seeds, Trust Wallet Core derivations and account-key bridge. Its README documents the separate Node/npm dependency installation. Downloaded dependency lock names must be copied to package.json and package-lock.json before npm ci. - `experiments/recovery-v2`: missing history, old backup omitting a later imported key, and offline address-range experiment. - `tools`: 7-day observer dashboard calculations, 90-day working retention, classified loopback RPC and immutable daily archives. PROTOCOL.txt defines the prospective 30-calendar-day report. - `tests`: synthetic collection continuity, reorg, retention, archive, incomplete report and RPC classification controls. - `REVIEW.md`: a scoped independent review procedure; no reviewer has been assigned or claimed. - `CITATION.cff`: citation metadata. No DOI has been assigned. ## Restore Git history Download the Git bundle to a local file and use: ``` git clone litecoin-watch-research-2026-09-27.2.bundle litecoin-watch-research cd litecoin-watch-research git log --oneline --decorate ``` The first commit imports an already published release; its commit timestamp is the import time, not the original experiment time. Tested-at fields in observation files record the actual executions. Tags identify versioned snapshots. This is the public research repository only; production application code, configuration, private data and deployment credentials are excluded. ## Limitations and licence Core tests use the same fully available isolated regtest chain. They do not test mainnet resync, pruned-history recovery, MWEB or hardware. Electrum's new experiment is offline address preparation and message signing, not online payment discovery. Trust Wallet Core is an engine, not the mobile application. All included phrases are deliberately PUBLIC SYNTHETIC FIXTURES. Never use or fund them. Code is MIT; original observations and diagrams are CC BY 4.0. Dependencies retain their own licences. Preparation uses AI-assisted coding/drafting and actual runs. No independent human review is claimed. Corrections: https://litecoin.watch/corrections/
