Exchange Rate
The amount of one currency or asset quoted for one unit of another. Pair direction matters: EUR per LTC and LTC per EUR are reciprocals. A reference conversion does not include every spread or service fee and is not necessarily an executable buy or sell offer.
For example At a hypothetical 50 EUR per LTC, 0.2 LTC has a reference value of 10 EUR before spreads and fees.
Common mistake Using a rate backwards, confusing a current reference with a historical transaction rate, or assuming the displayed conversion is what a provider will deliver.
Full glossary entryQuote Freshness
How recent an underlying market observation is, judged from its timestamp and the tool's stated rules. A source event time, collection time and page refresh time describe different things. A recent observation still does not guarantee an available or executable price.
For example Reloading a page at 12:05 does not make an observation from 11:30 newer; that source observation remains 35 minutes old.
Common mistake Reading a cache refresh as a new market event or assuming that every tool uses the same expiry threshold.
Full glossary entryFee Rate
A fee per unit of transaction size, rather than the total charge. For ordinary transparent Litecoin, wallets commonly quote litoshis per virtual byte. The estimated total depends on both that rate and the transaction's virtual size; MWEB adds different accounting.
For example An illustrative 200-vB transaction at 2 litoshis/vB costs 400 litoshis, while a 400-vB transaction at that rate costs 800.
Common mistake Reading 2 litoshis/vB as a 2-litoshi total, or assuming a recommended rate guarantees a confirmation time.
Full glossary entryLitoshi
An informal name for the smallest Litecoin unit: 0.00000001 LTC. One LTC contains 100,000,000 litoshis. Some software uses the inherited label satoshi, so always check which coin and unit a screen means.
For example 10,000 litoshis equal 0.0001 LTC; 1 litoshi equals 0.00000001 LTC.
Common mistake Confusing a fee quoted per virtual byte with that many litoshis for the whole transaction.
Full glossary entryConfirmation
A transaction receives its first confirmation when included in the accepted chain and another for each following block. Required confirmations depend on the recipient. Litecoin targets a 2.5-minute average block interval; individual waits vary.
For example A transaction in the latest accepted block has one confirmation; the next block raises that count to two.
Common mistake Confusing a wallet's sent message, a TXID or mempool visibility with the first confirmation.
Full glossary entryData Coverage
How much of a stated observation window or expected set is represented by usable records. The denominator may be scheduled polls, candle intervals or another declared sample. Coverage describes availability within that scope, not measurement accuracy or a complete view of the network.
For example If 90 of 96 expected price buckets are available, interval coverage is 93.75%; this says nothing about trades hidden inside those buckets.
Common mistake Reading missing observations as zero activity, or treating high coverage as proof that the sample is unbiased and error-free.
