Check your recovery plan

Identify the backup format and wallet policy, then plan a controlled recovery check without sharing your secrets.

Choose your next step

Start with the situation that matches yours. Keep wallet files, recovery words, private keys and passwords off this website and out of support messages.

I want to check my backup

  1. Preserve the original. Identify the wallet, backup format, any additional passphrase and the required signing policy.
  2. Authenticate the wallet software, then follow its documented recovery procedure using a separate copy.
  3. Compare a known address, check history discovery and verify signing access with a controlled procedure.

I restored my wallet, but funds are missing

  1. Compare a known receiving address. If it differs, check the seed format, passphrase, account and address type.
  2. If the address matches, check synchronization, available history and address discovery; an older backup may lack later imported keys.
  3. Check a known payment using its public transaction ID. A lookup cannot recover keys or inspect your wallet’s local scan.

My backup or secrets may have been exposed

  1. Identify what may have escaped: a public address, encrypted file, password or signing material have different implications.
  2. Read why changing a wallet-file password does not update other copies or revoke their signing keys.
  3. Follow the migration guide: use independent recovery material, verify the new backup and destination, and confirm the intended transfer.

What to take away

Use the correct procedure for the exact wallet and backup format. A website or support agent never needs your recovery phrase.
